About the position

Parsons is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer (HDE) Skill Level 3 to support efforts based in Fort Meade, MD. The role involves designing and testing new integrated circuits and hardware components for various signal processing applications. The ideal candidate will work on firmware development for digital signal processors and programmable hardware devices, analyze existing hardware for reverse engineering, and modify vendor-manufactured hardware to meet specific government needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products
  • Communicate with other engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated designs and ensure project completion
  • Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to ensure cost efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability
  • Apply ASIC or FPGA place and route (P&R) tools to create physical implementations of designs
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the P&R design flows
  • Assist with de-processing electronic components and retrieving stored firmware or software using approved reverse engineering procedures
  • Work with tool and library vendors to develop solutions for P&R design challenges
  • Integrate new P&R tools and updates into the Government's CAD environment and document their use
  • Lead the designs of new products and processes and improve and maintain existing products
  • Provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers
  • Direct and check the work of other hardware design engineers
  • Act as an internal consultant providing technical guidance on complex projects
  • Develop novel procedures for reverse engineering of new component types
  • Oversee the de-processing of electronic components and retrieving stored firmware or software

Requirements

  • Twelve (12) years of experience as a Hardware Design Engineer in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design or reverse engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with FS poly
  • Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph
