Join the transformation and help us make this impact now. We are seeking a dynamic Hardware Design Engineer to join our Quick Response Capabilities team. In the process of creating and developing systems and components related to computers and computer technology, for software to run smoothly on any system, the hardware involved needs to be properly designed, configured, and tested. This is where the Hardware Design Engineer comes into play. In this role you will design new products and processes for improving and maintaining existing products. The successful candidate will also be assisting with designing new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products. Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion
  • Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to be manufactured, and reliable
  • Apply ASIC or FPGA Place and Route (P&R) tools with various libraries to create physical implementations of design
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the P&R design flows
  • Work with tool and library vendors to develop solutions for designers' P&R design challenges

Requirements

  • Experience using VHDL RTL Coding (for design and/or analysis of digital circuits)
  • Experience with FPGA Design, synthesis, P&R tools (ex Vivado, Quartus)
  • Experience utilizing Verilog/System and Verilog test bench development
  • Experience working with Linux/Windows OS
  • Knowledge of design simulation tools (Mentor, Cadence, Synopsys - 1 or more)
  • Strong oral/written communication
  • This position requires the successful candidate to have and maintain an active federal security clearance, TS/SCI clearance with a poly

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Verilog RTL Coding
  • Experience with ASIC/FPGA front-end design and architecture of cryptographic systems
  • Experience using soft/hard IP cores in FPGAs/ASICs (ex Zynq or Microblaze or RISC processors, memories, flash/NVM)
  • Experience in Reverse Engineering of digital designs from one or more levels of abstraction (ex from images of de-processed hardware, GDS2 data, netlists, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ASIC implementation methods/tools (synthesis, physical layout - Cadence/Synopsys)
  • Knowledge of formal verification tools
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes
  • Strong C/C++, Python, Perl or scripting
