About the position

The Hardware Design Engineer (High Speed) role at Capgemini involves designing and validating high-speed electronic systems. The position requires strong lab skills and experience in high-speed design, with a focus on collaboration with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. The engineer will be responsible for hands-on testing and validation of hardware components, ensuring they meet performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read schematics and PCB designs and layouts.
  • Work with ODMs, IP Silicon vendors, memory vendors, and internal design teams to triage, debug, and resolve issues.
  • Utilize lab equipment for electrical validation and characterization.
  • Define and manage ODM production testing.
  • Automate tests, log parsing, and data collection through scripting.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (EE / CE).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with high-speed design and system validation.
  • Expertise in high-speed design, power design, and validation.
  • Experience with high-speed network interfaces (10G/25G/100G/400G), PCIe, DDR4, USB 3.2, 10G Ethernet, SPI, UART, I2C.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed board bring-up and using high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERT, VNA, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with network switches and routers.
  • Demonstrated experience working with ODMs and overseas multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams including CAD, FPGA, Power, Mechanical, Signal integrity, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Familiarity with design tools including Cadence Concept and Allegro.
