About the position

The Hardware Design Engineer role at Insight Global focuses on the development of high-speed digital boards (25G+) from concept to production. The position requires hands-on work in the lab, utilizing advanced hardware tools for debugging and design validation of high-speed components. Candidates will engage in designing and debugging complex systems, requiring strong technical skills and familiarity with high-speed optical interfaces and various hardware components.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-speed digital boards from concept to production.
  • Debug and validate high-speed components in a lab environment.
  • Utilize advanced hardware tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers (VNA).
  • Design and debug complex systems involving high-speed optical interfaces (10G to 25G+).
  • Work with components such as FPGAs, PCIe switches, PHYs, and retimers.
  • Write scripts in Perl, Python, or similar languages for automation and testing purposes.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing at least 2 high-speed digital boards from concept to production.
  • Knowledge of 25G+ serdes operation.
  • Familiarity with leading-edge microprocessor-based reference designs.
  • Experience in design or debugging with high-speed 10-25G+ optics.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed components (FPGA, PHY, Retimers, PCIe Switch, POL).
  • Good lab skills with oscilloscopes, analyzers, and VNAs.
  • Ability to set up hardware with minimal BSP level commands.
  • Ability to configure board components with low-level diagnostics commands.
