About the position

As a Hardware Design Engineer at TMC USA, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions for both external and internal customers. Your primary focus will be on customer solutions, where you will collaborate with electricians and installers to create effective designs that meet their needs. Additionally, you will assist in product development by refining marketing requirements, developing technical specifications, and conducting competitive analysis to ensure our products stand out in the market. In this role, you will also take on project management responsibilities. This includes defining engineering tasks, creating project schedules, estimating resources, and leading a team of electronics designers and technicians. You will be expected to clearly present project summaries to stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned on progress and objectives. Prototyping and testing will be a significant part of your responsibilities. You will facilitate the generation of prototypes, create and execute test plans, interpret results, and communicate your findings to senior management. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the creation of product definition files, which include schematic capture, PCB creation, and BOM development, preferably using Cadence tools. Moreover, you will be involved in innovation and risk management by documenting intellectual property, analyzing and mitigating product safety risks, and conducting root cause analysis for hardware and embedded systems. Compliance and certification are also key aspects of your role, as you will ensure that products meet third-party standards and work with agencies like UL for certification while contributing to user documentation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or PhD is a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience in electronics hardware product development.
  • Proven success in leading at least one new project development.
