About the position

As part of our ongoing global expansion, we are seeking a talented Hardware Design Engineer to join our innovative design team. This role is crucial in the development process of in-house server motherboards, where the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners to ensure robust design and functionality of our products. The Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for various essential duties including schematic capture, layout checking, BOM creation, debugging, and testing of server board and add-on card products. The candidate will also modify and enhance existing designs to improve the quality of server motherboards, ensuring that products conform to engineering specifications, regulatory standards, and customer expectations. This position requires the preparation of technical documentation such as product specifications, layout instructions, and test procedures, as well as providing technical support during the product sample and production stages. In addition to technical responsibilities, the successful candidate will provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. This role demands a self-motivated individual with a strong desire to excel and contribute to the development of competitive and durable board products. Regular in-office attendance is required, emphasizing the importance of in-person collaboration and participation in team activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for schematics capture, layout checking, BOM creation, debugging, and testing of server board/add-on card products
  • Modify and enhance existing designs to improve the quality of server motherboards
  • Collaborate with engineering and other teams to discover and resolve any engineering issues in early stages
  • Prepare technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, test procedures, etc.
  • Ensure products conform to engineering specifications, regulatory, and customer expectations
  • Transfer products to manufacturing with clear documentation and provide technical support to solve product problems
  • Provide clear documentation and strong technical support to contract manufacturers and production department during product sample and production stages
  • Provide necessary mentorship to young engineers in the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred; Master's degree is strongly desirable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with x86 server boards is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of circuit design (digital, analog, power) and PCB layout
  • Prior experiences with motherboard design in enterprise networking servers are strongly desired
  • Strong communication, written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving capability
  • Self-motivated, team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
