About the position

As a Hardware Design Engineer at Actalent, you will be responsible for creating detailed design drawings primarily using AutoCAD, specifically in a 2D format. Your main focus will be on designing motor control panels, PLC panels, and associated control systems that are essential for material handling equipment utilized in the parcel post business at UPS. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical design principles and the ability to produce detailed drawings for various electrical schematics, including 480v power schematics, 120v power schematics, I/O drawings, and field device layouts. In this position, you will collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the designs meet the necessary specifications and standards. You will also be expected to apply your knowledge of electrical codes and standards, such as UL508A and NEC, to ensure compliance in your designs. Your contributions will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and safety of the control systems used in UPS's operations. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical design or hardware design engineering, with a strong proficiency in AutoCAD. While experience with AutoCAD Electrical is preferred, a basic understanding of control systems and electrical standards is also essential.
