About the position

The Hardware Design Engineer role at Capgemini involves designing and validating high-speed hardware systems. The position requires strong lab skills and experience in electrical engineering, particularly in high-speed design and system validation. The engineer will work closely with various teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring the successful implementation of hardware solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read schematic, PCB design, and layouts.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical engineering fundamentals, power & signal integrity, and analog/digital circuits.
  • Work with ODMs, IP Silicon vendors, memory vendors, and internal design teams on cross-boundary triaging, debugging, and resolving issues across the organization.
  • Hands-on lab equipment skills for electrical validation and characterization.
  • Define and manage ODM production testing.
  • Scripting skills to automate tests, logs parsing, and data collection.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (EE / CE).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with high-speed design and system validation.
  • Expertise in high-speed design, power design, and validation.
  • Experience with high-speed network interfaces (10G/25G/100G/400G), PCIe, DDR4, USB 3.2, 10G Ethernet, SPI, UART, I2C.
  • Experience with high-speed SERDES, system design, signal integrity issues, and power distribution techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed board bring-up and using high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERT, VNA, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with network switches and routers.
  • Demonstrated experience working with ODMs and overseas multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to interface with other cross-functional teams, including CAD, FPGA, Power, Mechanical, Signal integrity, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Hands-on board design knowledge, familiar with design tools including Cadence Concept and Allegro.
  • Experience with lab bring-up and design validation.
  • Experience with board debug and failure analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
