This position is located at Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands. The successful candidate will provide leadership for fellow engineers and technicians in the group, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of C-band and Ka-band radar hardware systems. Responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various pieces of commercial and custom hardware, performing routine preventive maintenance procedures, and running system diagnostic software. The role also involves leading and providing support for design and implementation of improvement and modernization projects, installing new equipment, and providing technical input about system configuration and performance. Familiarity with RF and high-power switchgears, analog/digital control hardware, and RFI shielding practices is essential. In addition to technical skills, the position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to read schematic diagrams, wiring lists, and assembly prints, and the capability to work independently on assigned tasks. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are necessary, along with strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects. The candidate must be able to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment with time constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for fellow engineers and technicians in the group.
  • Provide operations & maintenance support for C-band and Ka-band radar hardware systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair various pieces of commercial and custom hardware.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance procedures and run system diagnostic software.
  • Lead and provide support for design and implementation of improvement and modernization (I&M) projects.
  • Install new equipment.
  • Provide technical input about system configuration and performance.
  • Familiarity with RF and high-power switchgears, analog/digital control hardware, and RFI shielding practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related technical major in STEM.
  • MSEE or related engineering discipline desired.
  • Five (5) or more years of related experience.
  • Direct experience with field installation and testing, calibration, troubleshooting and acceptance testing.
  • Familiarity with software such as RSLinx, RSLogix, RSView, MatLab, SPICE, and Allen-Bradley hardware (PLC-5 and I/O modules).
  • Weapons test range operations and systems O&M experience.
  • Familiarity with FPGA's, System Verilog, Verilog and VDHL.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams, wiring lists, and assembly prints.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks; self-starter.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraints.
