About the position

At Motorola Solutions, we are dedicated to enhancing safety and security through innovative technology. As a Hardware Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing highly reliable hardware for our embedded systems. This position involves taking ownership of your designs, from prototyping to verification, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will establish system and application requirements, evaluate components and integrated circuits (ICs) for suitability, and provide electrical design support throughout all phases of product development, from conception to mass production. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with internal and external teams to review specifications, schematics, and board layouts. You will also partner with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to design, develop, and execute test plans for lifecycle, unit, and regression testing. Your ability to work cross-functionally with mobile, backend, hardware, and firmware teams will be essential in developing new products and features that meet customer needs. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will serve as a technical resource for customer support and other software teams, addressing any customer issues and patching bugs as necessary. You will support internal and external manufacturing efforts to ensure product quality control and successful bring-up. Staying current with the latest technology, trends, and techniques in electrical engineering is vital, as is your willingness to learn and share knowledge with others. Exposure to antenna design and tuning, as well as the ability to hack together firmware when needed, will be beneficial in this dynamic environment.
