About the position

Meta is seeking a versatile Hardware Engineer to join our Accelerator Design team, focusing on designing custom accelerator modules for AI. This role involves working with cutting-edge hardware infrastructure to shape AI hardware for data centers, impacting billions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, and develop hardware and platform solutions with leading-edge ASICs for custom AI accelerators.
  • Design and validate leading-edge modules for Meta's AI accelerator silicon.
  • Lead the bring-up, validation, and launch of module and ASIC hardware.
  • Support hyper-scale deployment and obtain learning for next generation design.
  • Collaborate with the open source hardware community to drive innovation for large scale infrastructure.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Degree, with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with PCB design with both integrated and discrete circuits, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Experience with development and bring-up of high-performance custom systems or complex consumer devices.
  • Experience with analyzing and resolving system hardware issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience with owning and delivering a custom ASIC PCB as technical lead with other cross functional teams in engineering, program, and operation.
  • 4+ years of experience with end-to-end enabling, design, and deployment cycle of multiple generations of products.
  • 3+ years of experience with design and troubleshoot interfaces used in AI hardware such as I2C, PCIe, DDR, high-speed SerDes.
  • 3+ years of experience with industry standard EDA tools for developing and reviewing PCB designs.
  • 3+ years of experience with using high speed scope, logic analyzer, and other validation methods in validating and troubleshooting hardware.
  • Familiar with module and system architectures of industry AI accelerators.
  • Knowledge of using Linux for hardware validation and troubleshooting.
