About the position

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our Micro Systems Inc. (MSI) division, which specializes in developing and supporting high-performance uncrewed aerial systems and self-driving trucks. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and testing hardware and electronic components that meet engineering and scientific requirements. This role requires applying appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support hardware systems from the board level to the system level. In this position, you will lead and perform detailed design of test control apparatus and equipment, develop schematics and drawings using CAD tools, and conduct research and testing of electronic components and systems. You will also be responsible for qualifying and testing developed hardware, creating test plans and procedures, and ensuring that all designs are completed on schedule and within budget while maintaining manufacturing reliability. Collaboration with software engineers for hardware and software integration is essential, as is performing digital circuit design utilizing programmable logic such as FPGAs and CPLDs. The role requires a commitment to being present at the assigned worksite during assigned hours, with the expectation of minimal paid time off. You will interface with customers on program issues, lead design reviews, assist in training and mentoring new engineers, and contribute to the technical bid/proposal process.
