About the position

The Hardware Engineer I (Co-op) position at Cisco Systems offers an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience in hardware engineering. This role involves contributing to various aspects of product development, from circuit design to system design, and participating in high-volume manufacturing processes. The position emphasizes collaboration with multi-functional teams and aims to impact the development of innovative hardware solutions that serve a global customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Impact the product development from circuit design to large system design.
  • Collaborate with peers on projects that have a real-world impact.
  • Work on various creative hardware engineering tasks including ASIC Design, System/Board Design, Circuit Board Layout, Hardware Automation, Validation and Test, Signal Integrity, and Power Design.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of hardware engineering principles and experience with hardware design tools and software (e.g., CAD tools, simulation software).
  • Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging techniques.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Able to commit to a 6-month co-op program.
  • Able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship.
