About the position

The Hardware Engineer I (Co-op) position at Cisco Systems offers an opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in hardware engineering projects that impact product development from circuit design to large system design. This role allows students to collaborate with diverse teams and contribute to the creation of innovative hardware solutions across various product categories, including cloud, mobile, and IoT.

Responsibilities

  • Impact product development from circuit design to high volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to determine infrastructural needs and product specifications.
  • Engage in creative hardware engineering tasks such as ASIC design, system/board design, and hardware automation.
  • Participate in validation and testing of hardware components.
  • Contribute to signal integrity and power design efforts.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of hardware engineering principles and experience with hardware design tools and software (e.g., CAD tools, simulation software).
  • Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging techniques.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to commit to a 6-month co-op program.
  • Able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship.
