About the position

The Hardware Engineer I (Co-op) position at Cisco offers an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience in hardware engineering. This role involves contributing to product development from circuit design to large system design, impacting the creation of hardware that supports various technologies including cloud, networking, and the Internet of Things. The co-op program is designed to foster collaboration with multi-functional teams and provide real-world impact through innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Impact product development from circuit design to large system design.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to determine infrastructural needs and product specifications.
  • Engage in various hardware engineering tasks including ASIC design, system/board design, circuit board layout, hardware automation, validation and test, signal integrity, and power design.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of hardware engineering principles and experience with hardware design tools and software (e.g., CAD tools, simulation software).
  • Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging techniques.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Able to commit to a 6-month co-op program.
  • Able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship.
