About the position

As a Hardware Engineer II at Cisco, you will be part of a dynamic team that designs the hardware that powers the internet. This role is pivotal in the product development lifecycle, impacting everything from circuit design to large system design, and you will see your contributions through to high-volume manufacturing. You will have the opportunity to work on various product categories, including cloud, mobile/wireless, video, VoIP, big data, and Internet of Things, among others. In this position, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams to determine infrastructural needs and product specifications. You will engage in creative hardware engineering tasks, which may include ASIC Design, Verification, System/Board Design, Circuit Board Layout, Hardware Automation, Validation and Test, Signal Integrity, and Power Design. This role requires a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, ensuring that project goals are met in a timely manner. Responsibilities

  • Impact product development from circuit design to large system design.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to determine infrastructural needs and product specifications.
  • Engage in creative hardware engineering tasks including ASIC Design, Verification, System/Board Design, Circuit Board Layout, Hardware Automation, Validation and Test, Signal Integrity, and Power Design.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet long-term goals.
  • Establish and sustain positive relationships with extended teams.

Requirements

  • Graduate or upcoming graduate of a technical degree or certification program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience or recent graduate, or in the final year of a Master's program in a related field.
  • Proficient experience in hardware engineering areas such as ASIC Design and Verification, System/Board Design, Circuit Board Layout, Hardware Automation, Validation and Test, Signal Integrity, and Power Design.
  • Proven understanding of engineering fundamentals and technical analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud technologies and Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Familiarity with networking and service provider technologies.
  • Knowledge of software development processes.
