Insight Global is looking for a Hardware Engineer to join one of the world's leading technology companies. This position is part of the Reality Labs organization, which focuses on bringing people together through next-generation Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality technologies. The primary function of a hardware engineer in this role is to research, design, develop, and test computer or computer-related equipment for various applications, including commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. A typical hardware engineer is responsible for the manufacture and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components. The ideal candidate will work within a collaborative team environment that emphasizes support and teamwork, with regular weekly meetings dedicated to data review and project updates. In this role, the hardware engineer will analyze information to determine the layout of systems, including the types of computers and peripheral equipment modifications required. They will also assemble and modify existing equipment to meet specific needs, build and test product prototypes using both working models and theoretical models constructed through computer simulation. Additionally, the engineer will evaluate various factors such as reporting formats, cost constraints, and security requirements to determine the appropriate hardware configuration. Monitoring the functioning of equipment and making necessary modifications to ensure that systems operate in accordance with specifications will also be a key responsibility.
