About the position

The Hardware Engineer Intern position at ABB for Summer 2025 offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of electrical engineering. Interns will work on various projects that contribute to the Process Automation Business, focusing on designing, manufacturing, and testing components. This role emphasizes collaboration with senior engineers and the application of critical thinking skills to develop innovative product solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, manufacturing, and testing components for various flow board redesigns.
  • Analyzing problems or deficiencies and developing product solutions to resolve them.
  • Conducting experiments and evaluations to improve and innovate product designs.
  • Updating documentation and drawings/designs using ABB tools.
  • Working directly with Senior Engineers to develop and test new electrical approaches for ABB Products.
  • Learning the Windchill PLM tool.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in electrical engineering in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
