About the position

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a visionary Hardware Engineer Lead to join our team, focusing on high-speed digital design within the realm of advanced technology and high reliability. This position is pivotal in the development of leading-edge test and measurement products that engineering teams globally utilize to innovate in communication, consumer electronics, and computer products. The successful candidate will lead a team of hardware design engineers, overseeing board and system-level design, PCB layout, simulations, component selection, and providing support to manufacturing and customer service on various activities. This role requires a thorough background in developing high-end systems, including high-speed simulation, layout guidance, and collaboration with Mechanical Engineers for enclosure design and associated sub-assemblies. As a Hardware Engineer Lead, you will manage and lead hardware development teams that focus on high-speed serial data communication products. Your responsibilities will include board and system-level high-speed digital circuit design, integration, and evaluation. You will perform high-speed circuit simulations using tools such as HSPICE, Hyperlinx, ADS, and HFSS, ensuring board design and functionality. Generating PCB layout guidelines and collaborating with outside PCB layout service providers will be essential, particularly with knowledge in high-speed layouts of 20Gbps and higher. You will also be responsible for board bring-up and working closely with firmware and logic engineers to ensure product functionality. In addition, you will design and implement unit characterization tests, production tests, and integration tests, executing, analyzing, and verifying test results. Developing system and board-level tests and test procedures to ensure that the product meets electrical and engineering specifications is crucial, as is using these procedures to transfer products to Operations. You will work with mechanical engineers to design product enclosures and cross-check with electrical designs, as well as collaborate with logic and software teams for systems integration to address issues at the system level. Supporting Manufacturing and Customer Support on various issues and assisting in EMC certification as necessary will also be part of your role.
