About the position

We are seeking two Level 1 Hardware Engineers to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in SIGINT hardware engineering, specifically with a focus on analysis rather than design. The primary responsibility of this role will be to deconstruct and analyze FPGA, ASIC, and PCB technologies to gain a comprehensive understanding of their functionality. Candidates will also evaluate the effectiveness of commercially available tools that are utilized in conjunction with these devices. It is important to note that this position does not involve any design work; instead, it is centered around analytical tasks that require a deep understanding of hardware components and systems. The successful candidates will be expected to leverage their expertise in circuit analysis and digital design to provide insights and recommendations based on their findings. Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Cadence, Synopsis, and Mentor Graphics is essential, as these tools will be integral to the analysis process. Additionally, experience with hardware from manufacturers like AMD/Xilinx and Intel/Altera will be highly beneficial. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to critical projects while working in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deconstruct FPGA, ASIC, and PCB technologies to understand their functionality.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of commercially available tools used with these devices.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on analytical findings.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools such as Cadence, Synopsis, and Mentor Graphics for analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to support SIGINT hardware engineering projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 7 years of SIGINT hardware engineering experience, or 11 years of experience without a degree.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with full scope polygraph.
  • Strong understanding of ASIC and FPGA technologies.
  • Experience with circuit analysis and digital design.
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as Cadence, Synopsis, and Mentor Graphics.
  • Experience with hardware from AMD/Xilinx and Intel/Altera.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in integrated circuit design.
  • Knowledge of commercial tools for hardware analysis.
  • Familiarity with SIGINT systems and applications.
