About the position

Parsons is seeking a talented Mid-Level Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for reverse engineering electronic circuits, embedded devices, and complex systems. Your expertise will be crucial in researching, identifying, and exploiting hardware vulnerabilities, as well as performing hardware failure analysis. This includes researching methods to repair damaged hardware components for the purpose of extracting information. You will also engage in advanced hardware exploitation to circumvent security measures on hardware, utilizing hardware-based encryption, locking mechanisms, or other security features. Additionally, you will analyze both hardware and software core elements to properly organize raw binary structured data retrieved from the hardware level. Your role will also involve performing analysis of wired and wireless network traffic using tools such as Wireshark or other compatible protocol analyzers. Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer electronic circuits, embedded devices, and complex systems.
  • Research, identify, and exploit hardware vulnerabilities.
  • Perform hardware failure analysis and research methods to repair damaged hardware components for information extraction.
  • Conduct advanced hardware exploitation to circumvent security on hardware using hardware-based encryption and locking mechanisms.
  • Analyze hardware and software core elements to organize raw binary structured data from the hardware level.
  • Perform analysis of wired and wireless network traffic using Wireshark or other protocol analyzers.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with willingness to be submitted for a polygraph upgrade.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Information Systems, or additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years of experience with hardware design and layout.
  • 4 years of experience designing, developing, and testing printed circuit board projects.
  • 4 years of experience with system level buses and interfaces (I2C, USB, JTAG, HID, etc.).
  • 4 years of experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, hardware debuggers, and other tools to monitor and analyze hardware.
  • Capable of low-level processor programming and configuration (assembly level).
  • 2 years of experience performing advanced hardware exploitation to circumvent security on hardware utilizing hardware-based encryption, locking, or other security measures.
  • 3 years of experience with technologies and equipment in the work areas.
