About the position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Mid-Level Hardware Engineer to join our team supporting the United States Space Force (USSF) in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing hardware systems that are critical to national defense and security. You will work closely with a team of engineers and other professionals to ensure that our hardware solutions meet the rigorous standards required for space operations. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our missions and the safety of our nation. As a Hardware Engineer, you will engage in various phases of hardware development, including requirements analysis, system design, prototyping, and testing. You will utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, ensuring that all systems function optimally. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential, as you will need to communicate effectively with software engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test hardware systems for space applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software solutions.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and system design for new hardware projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during development and testing phases.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports related to hardware design and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in hardware design and development.
  • Proficiency in hardware design tools and simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with space systems or defense-related projects.
  • Familiarity with FPGA design and programming.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers.
