About the position

Molex is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer to lead the hardware design for high-speed fiber optic transceivers, specifically focusing on 400G and 800G technologies. This role encompasses the entire development process from initial definition and design through to testing and production readiness. The successful candidate will engage in critical design activities, including component selection and implementation strategies, ensuring that the hardware meets the high-performance standards expected in the optical industry. In this position, the engineer will be responsible for escalating critical risks to management and resolving conflicts that may arise during the development process. The role requires interfacing with key customers to address technical questions and support design wins, as well as managing key suppliers to align with project objectives. The engineer will ensure that hardware development adheres to product life cycle procedures and will be expected to resolve problems in a timely manner while conducting routine design meetings. As a technical authority for design architecture, the Principal Hardware Engineer will provide guidance for engineering initiatives and lead the engineering team in making risk and trade-off decisions. This position is crucial for the success of hardware development in a fast-paced and innovative environment, where continuous improvement and adherence to high standards are paramount.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
