About the position

As a Hardware Engineer Program Manager Intern at Verkada, you will play a crucial role in the development of a new access-related product within the Access Control Hardware team. This position involves collaborating with various internal and external partners throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial concept to mass production, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. Your contributions will significantly impact the success of the product and the overall safety and comfort of users in their physical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with experienced engineers to lead end-to-end product development efforts; steer your program from requirements definition through to validation, certification, ramp-up, and sustaining.
  • Work closely with cross functional team members (i.e. mechanical, electrical, firmware, industrial design, supply chain) to craft and track program schedules and coordinate all deliverables.
  • Leverage your engineering foundation to de-risk development and clear hurdles related to technical challenges, testing, manufacturing, vendor collaboration, and more.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • Available for a Winter Co-Op, starting around January 6th, for an extended term (8-12 months).
  • Technical knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical design and validation.
  • Strong presentation and organization skills and a track record of leading teams.
  • Desire to be hands-on.
