About the position

The Hardware Engineer - Systems role at Elbit Systems of America focuses on the development of medical device products. The position involves understanding user needs, capturing system requirements, and ensuring quality targets are met while managing technical risks. The engineer will lead the creation of system-level concepts, support system integration, and oversee the development of requirements across various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead effort to create system level concepts for new project proposals.
• Review and critique concepts created by others.
• Prepare Systems Engineering cost and schedule estimates on major design development efforts.
• Provide technical presentation support and consultation to marketing for proposals and during development.
• Plan and lead experiments to evaluate operating characteristics of products or processes.
• Translate experimental results into design criteria.
• Support System Integration, Verification and Validation by defining, specifying and supervising testing, analysis and integration activities.
• Ensure reports are prepared to document the results of such activities.
• Support the design review and phase gate process to ensure that engineering deliverables meet FDA/ISO requirements & standards.
• Oversee the development of requirements for different disciplines such as Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-optics and others.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• 5 years of complex electro-mechanical instrument systems engineering experience
• Hardware/software integration experience
• Must be available for daily onsite presence

Nice-to-haves

• Masters degree in Engineering
• Medical Device experience
• Extensive development experience in software, mechanical, electrical, optics, fluidics
• Ability to provide technical leadership during the investigation of complex medical instrumentation products
