About the position

The Hardware Engineer will be part of the Security Business Group, focusing on designing high-speed, constraint-driven printed circuit boards (PCBs) for next-generation secure firewall products. This role involves collaboration with global design teams and managing complex design flows while ensuring adherence to design rules and constraints. The engineer will also address signal integrity issues and work closely with multi-functional teams to deliver high-quality PCB designs.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-speed, constraint-driven printed circuit boards using Allegro PCB Constraint manager.
  • Manage the design flow, including importing netlist changes, routing, and generating output Gerber data.
  • Solve complex signal integrity issues and mitigate crosstalk while managing multiple power rails.
  • Facilitate communication between globally dispersed teams, making trade-offs and offering solutions to mitigate project risks.
  • Engage in technical discussions with multi-functional teams to ensure excellent quality PCBs.
  • Check and validate PCB designs to meet all DFX requirements.
  • Perform all PCB design layout activities using Cadence Allegro PCB Editor Version 22.1+.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, PCB Design, or an equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing complex printed circuit boards.
  • 5+ years of experience with Allegro PCB Design Editor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cross-functional knowledge in mechanical design, power distribution, signal integrity, and EMC.
  • Extensive experience importing Mechanical IDF input and resolving conflicts.
  • Experience in strategizing high-speed design techniques including component placement and efficient trace breakout.
  • Knowledge of Cadence SKILL.
  • Extensive knowledge of PCB stackup definitions, material types, prepreg, and dielectric materials.
