About the position

Kelly® Technology/Kelly OCG is seeking an L1 Hardware Engineer for a direct hire position with a top semiconductor company in Hillsboro, Oregon. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about driving technological innovations and are ready to take the next step in their careers. The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining network solutions, ensuring that all systems are compliant with global IT policies. The position involves installing, updating, and reconfiguring client’s lead processor platforms for remote testing, as well as maintaining servers for basic functionality and operation. The engineer will complete the build of open and closed chassis servers from BOM, TOPs, and assembly instructions, and will be responsible for updating firmware versions using standard programming dongles. Additionally, the role includes the replacement of standard SSDs with unique server components as per customer definitions, and defining specific platform “add on” hardware based on capability descriptions or functional specifications. The engineer will manage area network infrastructure and infrastructure automation code, deploy new network infrastructure, troubleshoot network issues, and create and maintain host systems, including application packages and base OS images. This position requires a strong understanding of network services, VLAN tagging, and subnets, as well as the ability to configure and work with Linux via command line. The candidate must be able to execute scripts and have a thorough understanding of VM capabilities and implementation. Experience with various operating systems, including Windows 8.1, 10 & 11, Red Hat, CentOS, and Windows Server 2012 R2/2016, is essential. The engineer will also own first and second level debug steps to repair malfunctioning platforms and work with engineering teams to troubleshoot to the root cause of failing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining network solutions.

  • User account creation and administration.
  • Ensuring all systems are compliant with global IT policy.
  • Owning first and second level debug steps to repair malfunctioning platforms.
  • Working with engineering to troubleshoot to the root cause of failing platforms.

Requirements
