About the position

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for developing and testing Coherent transceivers, working primarily on hardware aspects of design while collaborating with a multidisciplinary design team. This role involves independent hardware design and development tasks, including evaluation of optical/RF components, RF design, PCB layout, and testing. The engineer will also document control requirements for firmware designers and coordinate with various teams to ensure successful product development.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on hardware design and development tasks.
• Evaluate optical / RF components.
• Conduct RF Design / Analog & Digital Design and Simulation.
• Perform PCB Layout Design Verification Testing and Troubleshooting.
• Develop hardware for transceiver modules according to schedules and target dates.
• Document digital control requirements of the module for firmware designers.
• Coordinate hardware development with firmware, manufacturing, test, and other groups.
• Familiarize with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Evaluate future requirements and define/develop the needed hardware architecture.
• Perform training and support of Coherent personnel in the field of expertise.
• Interact with critical customers to provide technical support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Proficient in OrCAD and PADs software tools.
• Experience in analog / digital design and simulation.
• Experience in PCB layout.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with Optical Components is a plus.
• Experience with Agile software is a plus.
