About the position

The Hardware Engineer position at Westinghouse Electric Company is an entry-level role focused on the design, integration, and documentation of Plant Process Computer Systems used in nuclear power plants. The role involves assisting a principal engineer with hardware acquisition equipment designs, ensuring customer requirements are met, and preparing necessary documentation for system maintenance post-delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform review of hardware design and system architecture.
  • Review network layout, cabinet design, and system cabling interface.
  • Assist in custom panel and kit design, as well as cabinet power design.
  • Review data acquisition designs including interface cabling and custom adapter designs.
  • Participate in the set-up, system modification, integration, testing, and delivery of projects.
  • Understand and implement quality standards applicable to nuclear safety systems.
  • Travel and work with local customers as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of applicable experience in drawing review and design.
  • Entry-level knowledge of circuit designs to support custom cables and interfaces.
  • Entry-level knowledge of Data Acquisition systems including servers, workstations, controllers, and I/O modules.
  • Experience with ACAD and 3D modeling for drawing creation and review.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cisco switches.
  • Experience with RTP data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with servers and workstations.
