The Hardware Engineer position at Coherent Corp. involves developing and testing Coherent transceivers as part of a collaborative design team. The engineer will primarily own the hardware aspects of the design, working closely with designers from other disciplines. The engineer will also be responsible for developing hardware for transceiver modules according to schedules and target dates, documenting digital control requirements for firmware designers, and coordinating hardware development with firmware, manufacturing, testing, and other groups. Familiarity with industry standards and customer requirements is essential, as is the ability to evaluate future requirements and define the necessary hardware architecture. The engineer will also provide training and support to Coherent personnel in their area of expertise and interact with critical customers to provide technical support as needed.
