About the position

The Hardware Engineer position at Teradyne involves the development of cutting-edge electronic hardware for the Semiconductor Test Division. The role is based in Fridley, MN, and focuses on designing hardware products that ensure the functionality of integrated circuits in test systems globally. The engineer will work in a collaborative environment, gaining experience across various engineering disciplines while contributing to the design and verification of complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design electronic hardware used to test integrated circuits in test systems.
  • Participate in digital, analog, and power circuit design.
  • Conduct specification margin analysis and design verification.
  • Ensure design for reliability, testability, and manufacturability.
  • Engage in design reviews and failure analysis.
  • Write specifications and collaborate with semiconductor suppliers.
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams including Firmware, Software, QA, Thermal Design, Mechanical Design, and Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • BSEE or MSEE in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware design.
  • Understanding of digital design concepts.
  • Experience with common lab bench top equipment (scopes, DMMs, function generators, etc.).
  • Self-directed and proactive with the ability to thrive in dynamic settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Transmission line application and High-Speed Design techniques.
  • Knowledge of Schematic Capture.
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g. IBIS, SPICE).
  • Knowledge of PCB layout experience.
