About the position

The Hardware Engineer position involves designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex systems that incorporate FPGA, microprocessor, and DSP components. The role emphasizes high-speed interfaces and compliance with SOSA standards, focusing on RF and Microwave applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and debug systems with complex FPGA, microprocessor, and DSP components, including high-speed data interfaces like Ethernet, PCIe, USB, LVDS, SERDES.
  • Perform board-level debugging of hardware and FPGA, identifying and resolving issues related to high-speed interfaces, power integrity, and signal integrity.
  • Ensure hardware systems comply with SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture) standards.
  • Analyze and understand FPGA schematics and glue logic, coordinating with FPGA engineers to address board-level issues.
  • Collaborate closely with software and systems engineers for seamless integration, while managing hardware development projects.
  • Create and execute test plans, perform root cause analysis, and conduct thorough testing of electronic circuits and systems.
  • Utilize hardware tools, testing equipment, and programming tools to validate designs and resolve issues.
  • Manage the entire circuit card design lifecycle, including requirements capture, schematic design, component selection, signal integrity analysis, simulations, and thermal analysis.
  • Stay informed on emerging high-speed digital design technologies and apply innovations to improve system designs.

Requirements

  • Experience in FPGA design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, USB, LVDS, and SERDES.
  • Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting hardware systems.
  • Experience with schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools for circuit design and analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with RF and Microwave applications.
  • Knowledge of SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture) standards.
  • Familiarity with DSP components and their integration.
