About the position

The Hardware Engineer position at Oxford Global Resources involves designing and developing hardware solutions, particularly focusing on FPGA or ASIC technologies. The role requires a strong foundation in digital design, coding, and simulation, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The engineer will be responsible for implementing micro-architectures, debugging, and enhancing existing designs while ensuring compliance with security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware solutions focusing on FPGA or ASIC technologies.
  • Implement requirements into micro-architecture.
  • Modify and enhance legacy FPGA designs as needed.
  • Collaborate with design verification teams to ensure quality and functionality of designs.
  • Conduct digital simulations and perform static timing analysis.
  • Utilize high-speed interfaces such as SERDES, PCIe, and DDR2/3/4 in design work.
  • Generate scripts for automation and testing purposes.
  • Debug and solve problems related to hardware design and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience (less with advanced degree).
  • Current Security Clearance (Secret) or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience in FPGA or ASIC Design/Development.
  • Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog HDL coding.
  • Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado or Intel/Altera Quartus tools.
  • Experience with digital simulation using Modelsim/Questa.
  • Knowledge of static timing analysis and clock domain crossing techniques.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces like SERDES, PCIe, DDR2/3/4, LVDS.
  • Familiarity with revision control systems (GIT, CVS, Clearcase, Subversion).
  • Some experience generating scripts (Perl, Tcl, Python, shell).
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to implement requirements into micro-architecture.
  • Experience modifying and enhancing legacy FPGA designs.
  • Experience in hardware design and hands-on lab debugging.
  • Experience working with FPGA design verification teams.
  • Some experience with data conversion techniques (ADC/DAC).
