About the position

TP-Link Systems Inc. is seeking a creative Hardware Engineer to join our systems engineering team. This role involves supporting consumer network and electronic products, such as routers and IPCs, throughout all stages of product development, from concept to mass production. The engineer will engage in initial product discussions, evaluate hardware solutions, design hardware systems, create detailed circuit schematics, develop prototypes, and ensure manufacturability during pilot production. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preliminary assessment of design solutions, including design analysis and performance testing of market-related products.
  • Create detailed hardware design documentation, including schematics, layouts, and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Collaborate on the creation of hardware prototypes, performing design validation and reliability testing.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize designs to ensure product quality and produce detailed hardware test reports.
  • Follow up on certification testing to ensure product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
  • Participate in analyzing and resolving issues identified from market user feedback to enhance product quality.
  • Promote and track key project milestones to ensure execution according to plan.
  • Document and maintain hardware specifications and design history files throughout the product development process.
  • Lead and guide junior engineers in hardware design, development, and integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in hardware design, with a proven track record of successful product development.
  • A solid foundation in circuit knowledge, with experience in board-level mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Experience in design tools such as Allegro Designer, Altium Designer, or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards related to product design.
  • A proactive approach to learning and keeping up with emerging technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant product development experience, including experience with high-speed digital or RF communications design.
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi, IoT, and smart device technologies.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and structural design principles and manufacturing processes.
