About the position

The Hardware Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and testing computer or computer-related equipment for various applications including commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. This role involves overseeing the manufacture and installation of hardware components, ensuring they meet specified requirements, and providing support and training to users and system designers.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve plan layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications.
• Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
• Supervise functioning of equipment and approve modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
• Write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction.
• Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
• Provide training and support to system designers and users.
• Design and develop computer hardware and support peripherals, including central processing units (CPUs), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and printers and disk drives.
• Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Proficient in Python.
• Proficient in C.
• Experience with multiple sensors (ambient light sensor, optical sensor, motion sensor or touch sensor).
• Strong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
