About the position

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for designing hardware boards for Cisco Secure Firepower Next Generation Firewalls, focusing on delivering high quality and power efficiency in cutting-edge network security technology. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure successful product development from design to release.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware boards for Cisco Secure Firepower Next Generation Firewalls.
• Conduct schematic entry and CAD design.
• Perform board bring-up and validation processes.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software design experts.
• Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to solve complex problems during product development.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of proven experience in hardware design including board development, validation, and debugging.
• 1+ years of experience with schematic entry and CAD design tools, particularly Cadence Concept and Allegro.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in hardware design fundamentals, including CPU/microcontrollers (x86), memory, PCI, I2C, USB, and power design.
• Knowledgeable in networking fundamentals such as Ethernet and IP.
• Skilled in using electrical design and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
