About the position

The Hardware Engineer position at Arcata Associates focuses on serving as an Electronic Warfare (EW) subject matter expert to support the development, fielding, upgrade, and sustainment of simulators that represent potential military threat systems. The role involves evaluating radar systems' performance, providing systems analysis, and ensuring effective integration of these systems into military ranges in the Western United States.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and document system level open-loop emitter and closed-loop radar requirements for range integration.
  • Validate existing power, communications, instrumentation and command and control (C2) range interface control documents (ICDs).
  • Develop remote operations concept and infrastructure requirements.
  • Support development of the EWIIP Concept of Employment & Life-Cycle Support.
  • Document range modernization needs and generate cost estimates for upgrades.
  • Lead project and maintenance teams to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Recommend tests, equipment modifications, and corrections to design deficiencies based on operational capability evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • At least 10 years of applicable RF / threat (electronic warfare systems) engineering experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electronic warfare (EW) policy, doctrine, practices, and capabilities.
  • Mastery of IO-related systems analysis and design.
  • Ability to develop new approaches and establish innovative techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of current engineering practices and standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Experience with technical proposals and requirements definitions.
