This position is open for contract, contract-to-hire, or direct hire, providing various employment options for candidates. In this role, you will be responsible for creating hardware design solutions, which may include digital circuit design (both board and ASIC), firmware applications, microprocessor-based board-level design, printed circuit board layout, digital signal processing, and real-time embedded multiprocessor design. You will oversee the entire engineering life cycle of hardware products, which encompasses architecture, design, and implementation. Collaboration with product marketing will be essential as you will confer with them to write functional specifications and design product solutions and features using a hardware description language. Additionally, you will be expected to provide detailed schedules and reports on project status, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Create hardware design solutions such as digital circuit design (board and ASIC) and firmware applications.
  • Design microprocessor-based board level designs and printed circuit board layouts.
  • Implement digital signal processing and real-time embedded multiprocessor designs.
  • Oversee the engineering life cycle of hardware products including architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Confer with product marketing to write functional specifications.
  • Design product solutions and features using a hardware description language.
  • Provide detailed schedules and reports on project status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) plus three to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency in board and/or ASIC design is required.
  • Knowledge of Cadence and Synopsys tools is highly preferred.
  • Experience in networking and storage areas such as Fibre Channel, ATM, and/or Gigabit Ethernet is highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity and overall knowledge of PCI bus is desired.
