About the position

The Hardware Engineer will design, develop, and test new electronic products specifically for the refrigeration and comfort cooling business unit. This role involves managing new products through the development process and addressing any field and production issues related to existing products.

Responsibilities

• Design and test electronic circuits for new products and revisions of existing products
• Supervise board layouts and manage Bill of Materials
• Find and approve alternate components
• Manage and support product qualification testing
• Create detailed documentation for new products
• Develop test fixturing and procedures for manufacturing testing
• Manage product compliance testing at external laboratories and analyze results
• Provide general Engineering support to other departments

Requirements

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Strong experience with electronics lab test equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, etc.)
• Proven track record of electronics design & development
• Ability to solder & rework SMD components under a microscope
• Basic knowledge of embedded programming in C / C++
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Quick learner and able to balance multiple tasks
• Strong experience with PCB CAD tools (Candence Allegro & OrCAD preferred)
• Experience with UL 60730 family of standards a plus
• Understanding of principles of refrigeration a plus
