About the position

EchoStar Corporation is offering an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Engineering Internship for the Summer of 2025 within our Hughes Network Systems division. This internship is designed for students who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program and are focusing on disciplines such as RF, Digital Signal Processing, or Board level design. The internship will take place in our Germantown, MD office, located approximately 20 miles from Washington, DC. Interns will be assigned a project that is manageable within the duration of the internship, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in the field. The development aspect of the internship will involve both design and testing, which may include coding tasks as well. To qualify for this internship, candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have completed at least 60 credit hours in their academic program. This position is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, while also contributing to meaningful projects that align with their studies. The internship will not only enhance technical skills but also provide valuable insights into the workings of a leading satellite communication solutions provider.

Responsibilities

  • Assigned a project of size that can be completed during the internship
  • Development - design and test; design could include coding

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program
  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • 60 credit hours or more

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital circuit design
  • Working knowledge of C, Python, and/or Labview
  • Effective oral communication
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
