About the position

The Hardware FPGA Engineer position at Barco involves designing, implementing, and testing hardware systems for the Image Processing Product Group. This role focuses on developing products for live events, ensuring that designs meet market requirements and adhere to company guidelines. The engineer will work with a diverse team to create robust, high-performance FPGA designs and contribute to the next generation of Event Master products.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure design, implementation, and testing/verification of systems meet time, cost, specification, and quality targets.
  • Evaluate market requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Develop component and module level specifications from higher-level specifications.
  • Review test cases developed by the test team to verify implementation against specifications.
  • Analyze test results and propose solutions to problems.
  • Interact with the R&D team to ensure design consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare documentation and reports related to design and modules in accordance with project plans.
  • Ensure milestones are achieved and report problems on time if goals cannot be reached.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including real-time video and image processing.
  • Experience in large FPGA design is a must.
  • Proficiency in System Verilog HDL and experience with Xilinx and/or Altera design environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good time management and multi-tasking abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with scripting languages like TCL and Python.
  • Modelsim experience for simulation.
