The Design and Integration Engineer at PACCAR plays a crucial role in specifying and developing test equipment and models that are essential for verifying embedded vehicle controllers. This position is integral to the testing process, working closely with test engineers and developers to design and coordinate the necessary test equipment and benches that simulate vehicle systems. The engineer will be involved in the entire design and development process, from initial concept through to implementation, while identifying any technological risks or limitations that may arise. The role requires the development of innovative solutions to meet testing needs, as well as the compilation of comprehensive design documentation. Additionally, the engineer will coordinate development and build tasks across various groups, ensuring effective communication with multiple levels of management, external suppliers, customers, and project stakeholders. In this position, the engineer will plan, coordinate, and conduct projects of varying scope with minimal supervision. They will be responsible for developing creative solutions to engineering test problems, ensuring that bench capabilities are sufficient for test engineers to execute their test cases against established requirements. The engineer will recommend the best testing methods based on the specific needs of the test engineers and will track implementation dates for projects to align with overall project goals. Furthermore, they will manage the application lifecycle database, modifying fields and generating reports as necessary, while also managing individual projects from planning and quoting through to execution and reporting. Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with other departments and groups is essential for success in this role.
