About the position

The HILS Application Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the design, assembly, validation, and deployment of Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) systems, which are essential for vehicle embedded software development. This position is integral to ensuring that the software validation test plans are executed effectively, guaranteeing comprehensive coverage of test requirements aligned with project development milestones. The engineer will be responsible for the complete design of HIL simulators, which includes selecting simulator hardware, specifying and programming plant models, choosing I/O channels, and designing simulator/controller harnesses. In addition to the design responsibilities, the HILS Application Engineer will prepare test automation scripts to meet the testing requirements set forth by the system function team. Accurate reporting of test results and conditions is vital, as it allows for informed decision-making regarding system performance. The engineer will document the test conduct, results, problems encountered, resolutions, and findings in an established database, ensuring that all information is readily accessible for future reference. The role also involves supporting senior engineers in the design, purchase, and deployment of new HILS systems from suppliers. This includes collecting, implementing, and maintaining prototype control software and physical system models from related function groups. The engineer will work closely with team members and peers across the organization, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
