About the position

The Hardware Penetration Tester at SSIT Inc. is responsible for conducting thorough hardware security assessments and penetration testing. This role requires a strong technical background in hardware security, embedded systems, and the use of various hardware hacking tools. The position is a long-term contract based in San Jose, CA, offering a competitive hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hardware penetration testing and security assessments.
• Utilize hardware hacking tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Reverse engineer firmware and analyze binary code for vulnerabilities.
• Evaluate cryptographic implementations and assess side-channel attacks.
• Identify and document common hardware vulnerabilities in circuit board designs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in hardware penetration testing or hardware security assessment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and hardware design.
• Proficiency in reverse engineering firmware and analyzing binary code.
• Familiarity with cryptographic implementations and side-channel attacks.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or Certified Hardware Security Professional.
