About the position

The Hardware Product Validation Engineer role involves gathering and formatting test requirements, creating test plans, and overseeing product verification and validation testing. The engineer will maintain documentation of testing results, communicate progress to stakeholders, and review test results to compose technical reports. This position is crucial for ensuring that hardware products meet specified requirements and standards before they are released.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and format test requirements from internal and external customers.
  • Review and provide feedback about the requirements to stakeholders or cross-functional design teams.
  • Create Hardware Test Plans based on product requirements, test standards, and testing best practices.
  • Perform and oversee Product Verification and Validation testing, troubleshooting problems associated with testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of testing results and schedules, communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Review test results, draw conclusions, and compose technical reports based on findings.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years product testing of electronics or product development experience.
  • 2-5 years project management experience.
  • 2-5 years work experience in a team environment.
  • 2-5 years experience with data acquisition and validation tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Understanding of product development phases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with product testing or design of ruggedized electronics.
  • Experience working with VC-B1 or VC-B2 voltage levels.
  • Experience with development and debugging tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters).
  • Knowledge of reliability planning for electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with basic electronics hardware and systems (e.g. Op Amp, FET's, Transistors, A/D converters).
  • Experience in LabVIEW or other NI programming languages.
  • Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/485).
  • Experience with communication protocols (e.g. J1939, ISO11783, TCP/IP).
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited test lab.
