About the position

The Hardware Product Validation (PV) Engineer is responsible for gathering and formatting test requirements from both internal and external customers, creating hardware test plans, and overseeing product verification and validation testing. This role involves maintaining documentation of testing results, communicating progress to stakeholders, and composing technical reports based on testing findings.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and format test requirements from internal and external customers.
  • Review and provide feedback about the requirements to stakeholders or cross-functional design teams.
  • Create Hardware Test Plans based on product requirements, test standards, and testing best practices.
  • Perform and oversee Product Verification and Validation testing, troubleshooting problems associated with testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of testing results and schedules, communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Review test results, draw conclusions, and compose technical reports based on findings.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years product testing of electronics or product development experience.
  • 2-5 years project management experience.
  • 2-5 years' work experience in a team environment.
  • 2-5 years' experience with data acquisition and validation tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Understanding of product development phases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with product testing or design of ruggedized electronics.
  • Experience working with VC-B1 or VC-B2 voltage levels.
  • Experience with development and debugging tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.).
  • Knowledge of reliability planning for electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with basic electronics hardware and systems (i.e. Op Amp, FETs, Transistors, A/D converters, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.).
  • Experience in LabVIEW or other NI programming languages.
  • Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/485, etc.).
  • Experience with communication protocols (e.g. J1939, ISO11783, TCP/IP, etc.).
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited test lab.
