About the position

The Hardware/Quality Assurance Sustaining Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of server electronics and mechanical systems. This position involves validating the performance of server components against the Product Requirements Document (PRD) and utilizing accelerated stress and margining test techniques to assess features and performance. The engineer will be responsible for defining life test strategies and overseeing the testing process, ensuring that all components meet the necessary qualifications before being released for use in both new and existing designs. This includes creating documentation and writing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as required. In addition to testing and validation, the engineer will support the documentation of prototype platforms for customer evaluations and perform failure analysis to identify root causes of field returns and manufacturing yield issues. Collaboration with suppliers may be necessary to implement engineering corrective actions based on these analyses. The engineer will also participate in the Change Control Board, reviewing and signing off on ECOs, and will maintain up-to-date HRIS functional departmental documentation and standard operating procedures. The role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as the engineer will be responsible for generating accurate test plans, documenting test progress, and maintaining data integrity in systems. The engineer will also assist in developing standard reports to meet ongoing customer needs and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Overall, this position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and performance in hardware engineering.
