About the position

The Hardware Quality Engineer position at Raytheon focuses on ensuring product and process quality within the Operations Quality team, specifically for the SAW Module on the 2nd shift. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and compliance, requiring hands-on experience in hardware quality. The engineer will lead projects aimed at reducing costs associated with poor quality and improving factory yield, while also engaging in cross-functional collaboration to address quality issues and enhance production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost of poor quality (CoPQ) and increase factory first pass yield (FPY).
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
  • Analyze factory data and generate, publish, and present quality metrics regularly.
  • Participate in Defect Prevention Team (DPT) meetings to trend data and prioritize investigations.
  • Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct daily status meetings with factory support and management to manage production quality.
  • Engage in process walks, operator observations, and discussions with manufacturing teams.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in STEM.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with schematic and/or other technical drawings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Controls and Capability analysis.
  • Experience in driving cost reduction or quality yield improvement projects.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
  • Six Sigma, CORE, Shainin RedX Problem Solving, or ASQ Certification.
  • Data analysis and development of actionable metrics.
