About the position

The Hardware Quality Engineer position at Raytheon is focused on ensuring product and process quality within the SAW Module on the 2nd shift. This role involves leading continuous improvement projects, facilitating cross-functional teams in failure analysis, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The engineer will engage with various stakeholders to manage production quality and contribute to a safer, more secure world through effective quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost of poor quality (CoPQ) and increase factory first pass yield (FPY).
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
  • Analyze factory data and generate, publish, and present quality metrics.
  • Participate in Defect Prevention Team (DPT) meetings to trend data and prioritize investigations.
  • Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct daily status meetings with factory support and management.
  • Engage in process walks and operator observations.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in STEM.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with schematic and/or other technical drawings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Controls and Capability analysis.
  • Experience in driving cost reduction or quality yield improvement projects.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
  • Six Sigma, CORE, Shainin RedX Problem Solving, or ASQ Certification.
  • Data analysis and development of actionable metrics.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work on a team.
