About the position

The Hardware Quality Inspector position at Raytheon is an onsite role responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards. The inspector will conduct inspections, test products, and maintain accurate records, collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues. This role is crucial in supporting the Receiving Inspection team and enhancing product quality through continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Interpret and adhere to quality standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Use measurement tools and equipment to verify product dimensions and quality.
  • Document inspection results and maintain detailed records.
  • Identify and report defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
  • Assist in developing and updating inspection plans.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree (B.S. in Engineering, Science, Tech, or Mathematics) or a minimum of 6 years of quality or manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Experience with using a microscope.
  • Experience working with optical components (lens, windows, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
